VanVed vs Teachable
for Courses

Courses, lessons, and who has finished what.
Where VanVed is ahead

Why businesses choose VanVed over Teachable

VanVed takes no cut of course sales and issues real PDF certificates on every tier, where Teachable charges 7.5% on its entry plan and locks certificates behind the $189 tier. Its drip gate is enforced on the server, not just hidden in the UI, and quiz scoring cannot be forged by the client. And a VanVed tenant is genuinely their own brand on their own domain, which Teachable only approaches on a custom contract.

Where Teachable is ahead of us today

Teachable is a course business in a box and VanVed is not. The gap that matters most is video: Teachable hosts and streams your videos, while a VanVed lesson is a link that sends the learner off to someone else's player — no embed, no progress from the player, no protection. Teachable also has the whole revenue apparatus VanVed lacks: order bumps, upsells, abandoned-cart recovery, affiliates, and a learner app on every plan.

We publish this because a comparison that only flatters us is worth nothing to you. If one of these gaps is the thing you actually need, Teachable may well be the better buy.
