VanVed vs Zoho Contracts
for Contracts / AMC
Why businesses choose VanVed over Zoho Contracts
VanVed is the better fit for an AMC business rather than a legal team: the contract knows which machines it covers by serial number, schedules its own service visits, and turns its billing frequency into invoices the finance module actually collects. Zoho Contracts does none of that and needs Books alongside it.
Capability by capability
Every row below is what our 2026 research found — including the rows we lose.
| Capability | VanVed | Zoho Contracts |
|---|---|---|
| Clause library and contract authoring | One free-text terms field — no clauses, no templates, no editor | Dynamic clause library, clause picker and contract-type templates |
| Version history and comparison | The e-sign document has versions, but the contract's own terms are overwritten in place with no history or diff | Chronological versions, compare and restore, plus AI redlining |
| Obligation tracking | Only the two structured kinds — AMC service visits and billing installments. No general obligations | Assignable obligations per contract with alerts and reports |
| E-signature | Yes, with IP, timestamp and audit trail — but it signs a generated summary of the contract fields, not the uploaded PDF | Digital and electronic signature on the authored document |
| Renewal chain | Renewal creates a linked successor contract and records the chain both ways | Renewal lifecycle management |
| Contract to invoice | Installments raise GST invoices in the same tenant, never twice for the same installment | Not native — CLM only, billing lives in Zoho Books |
| Assets covered by the contract | Contract items with serial numbers, linkable to the asset register | Not an asset-aware product |
| Drafting help | AI drafts a renewal reminder from the contract's real data; if no AI key is configured it fails honestly rather than faking a draft | AI redlining and review |
| Price | Bundled with the platform | $25–$40 per user per month |
Where Zoho Contracts is ahead of us today
For legal contract management Zoho Contracts is simply the real product. It has a clause library and a document editor, full version history with comparison, restore and AI redlining, and contextual obligations that can be assigned and chased. VanVed has a single free-text terms box that is overwritten in place with no history, no clauses, and no obligations beyond the AMC visits and installments it generates itself.
We publish this because a comparison that only flatters us is worth nothing to you. If one of these gaps is the thing you actually need, Zoho Contracts may well be the better buy.
