VanVed vs Zendesk AI
for AI Lab
Why businesses choose VanVed over Zendesk AI
Zendesk's AI stops at customer service and charges for it twice — once per verified resolution and again $50 an agent for Copilot. VanVed's gateway spans the business instead: the same path drafts a CRM email, a contract clause, a product description, an announcement and a support agent's reply, and parses a résumé, on your own key with no outcome meter, and a tenant can change the model without a code change.
Capability by capability
Every row below is what our 2026 research found — including the rows we lose.
| Capability | VanVed | Zendesk AI |
|---|---|---|
| What it costs to use | Your own provider key, no per-seat or per-outcome charge from VanVed | AI agents bill per LLM-verified resolution against a dollar allowance per seat; Copilot is a $50/agent/mo add-on |
| Reach across the business | One gateway serving CRM, contracts, catalog, announcements and recruitment — not support-only | Focused on customer service |
| Agent copilot in the ticket | A Draft with AI reply assist in the ticket — no thread summarisation and no macro suggestions, and it reads the last customer message rather than the whole conversation | Suggested replies, auto-summarisation and macro suggestions for agents |
| Automatic triage | No intent, sentiment or language detection — priority and category are set by hand | Intelligent triage predicts intent, sentiment and language on arrival |
| Generative answers to customers | None | AI agents answer from the help centre across chat, email and voice |
| Draft generation for staff | Real drafting in six modules, returning a draft a human reviews and edits before anything is saved | Drafting and rewriting for agents, on the paid Copilot add-on |
| Choice of model | Configurable model and key at the platform level, swappable without code changes | Zendesk's own models; not selectable |
| Knowledge article generation | Not wired — the knowledge base and the AI gateway do not know about each other | Generates and expands help-centre articles |
Where Zendesk AI is ahead of us today
On support specifically Zendesk wins on every line that matters. It triages an incoming ticket for intent, sentiment and language; it suggests replies and summarises threads for the agent; it answers customers directly from the help centre; and it drafts help-centre articles. VanVed now drafts an agent's reply and nothing more — no triage, no summarisation, nothing customer-facing — and the knowledge base is still not connected to the gateway.
We publish this because a comparison that only flatters us is worth nothing to you. If one of these gaps is the thing you actually need, Zendesk AI may well be the better buy.
