VanVed vs monday.com
for Projects
Why businesses choose VanVed over monday.com
For a services business that already runs its CRM, HR and billing on VanVed, projects is one more switch on the same tenant — and the time logged on a task becomes a real invoice without an integration. monday.com charges per seat per product and still leaves billing outside.
Capability by capability
Every row below is what our 2026 research found — including the rows we lose.
| Capability | VanVed | monday.com |
|---|---|---|
| Custom columns / fields on work items | Fixed schema — title, description, assignee, status, priority, dates, order | Fully custom column types; the whole product is built on them |
| Automations and integration recipes | None in the projects module | 250 actions/month on Standard, 25,000 on Pro |
| Task dependencies | Yes, with same-project and circular-chain validation enforced in both the serializer and the model | Dependency column, Standard and up |
| Time tracking | Included on every plan | Pro plan only |
| Invoice the tracked time | Native — draft invoice with one line per time entry, guarded against double-billing | Not native; needs an app or integration |
| Dashboards across projects | A portfolio strip across every project — status counts, overdue projects and tasks, unbilled time — but it is fixed, not a dashboard you compose, and there are no chart widgets | Drag-and-drop dashboard widgets combining many boards |
| Workload view | Not built | Workload widget for capacity balancing |
| Mobile app for project work | No — the Flutter app covers attendance, field service, helpdesk, visitors and HR, not projects | Full iOS/Android apps |
| Runs alongside CRM, HR, billing and inventory on one tenant | Yes — one login, one database, modules toggled per tenant | monday CRM/Dev/Service are separate paid products |
Where monday.com is ahead of us today
monday.com's entire value is configurability — custom column types, per-board views, dashboard widgets across boards, workload, and thousands of automation actions a month. VanVed's projects module has a fixed schema, a list, a board and a Gantt, one fixed portfolio strip rather than dashboards you compose, no workload, no automations and no mobile app. A team that wants to shape the tool around its own process will not get that here.
We publish this because a comparison that only flatters us is worth nothing to you. If one of these gaps is the thing you actually need, monday.com may well be the better buy.
